J.Cole has worked with Miguel before on “All I Want Is You,” which remains a favorite in most cribs in NYC.
The reverse assist from Miguel (suggested by Jay-Z after he heard the original hook sung by Cole, according to mythologers) is welcome, and made me a believer in the radio-friendly, dominant vision of J. Cole that Roc Nation has invested in from the beginning.
Some confidence has been communicated to Cole in a boardroom meeting somewhere, and he’s ripe for radio spins in a bigger way with this one, vaulting off the success of catchy-as-hell single “Work Out.”
BOTTOM LINE: Shorties be sweating J. Cole.
