Jam of the Day – Junip Provides Ambient Mood for Subarctic Climes

Swedish Folk Band Junip released their first full-length album, Fields, back in 2010. In December, the band announced that they will release a new self titled album this April. The song progression in Fields really builds and is worth a full listen here. “Howl” is one of my favorite tracks. Their sound has a haunting, seventies feel, even drawing recent comparisons to Cat Stevens from The New York Times.

Their new single, “Line of Fire,” from the upcoming album is available from free download on their website. So get inside, grab a glass of red wine and have a listen!
